After a week of non-stop partying, raving, drinking, and doing drugs. We can finally go back to living our boring lifestyles. Back to school, work, or even just going back to your hometown.
Miami Music Week/Winter Music Conference/Ultra Music Festival flew by us, providing us with 7 days of festivities. During my time at multiple events, I met people from Austria, Italy, Brazil, China, and other parts of the world. They all come to party in our hometown, that’s something special.
Unfortunately I took a break from UMF this year after attending the festival for 5 years straight, but I did hear the Livestream and regretted not attending. I hope everyone had a great time during their three days at Ultra. Let’s take some time to remember Ultra brings our beautiful city millions of dollars each year, which goes into our communities, so the next time someone tries to bash Ultra because of those who drug overdosed and died, just remember, the City will never ban the festival. At the end of the day, Money talks and bullshit walks.
I did attend Potion at the Delano Tuesday morning. I just want to take a quick 2 seconds to make everyone realize a fucking drink was $22, which is ridiculous but oh well, tourist fall for the trap. Luckily for the Miami folks, we pregamed hella hard before attending. Anyways, Danny Howard and The Magician killed it, one of the best pool parties I’ve ever attended. The music was great, the environment was friendly, and the weather was fantastic.
In the evening, I attended Flux Pavilion at The Hangar. Now of course there were like 6 other DJs there but I only went for special guest Datsik, Nghtmare, and of course, Flux Pavilion. The venue has such an energetic crowd, I loved it. I was able to get on stage during this time and take a few photographs and videos, I’ll be posting some through out the week on the Blog The Noise IG, so follow it!
Wednesday I was suppose to see Oscar G and friends but I had a last minute emergency but luckily Revolution Radio Miami had him at their Wynwood Takeover event on Saturday night. His music has an extremely Miami feel to it, I understand he’s from here but he threw a lot of salsa into his music and it was fun but strayed away from the EDM sound. Regardless, the event was a success. It was free and alcohol wasn’t as expensive as on South Beach. The set up was really nice as well, The colors of the event really popped.
Above and Beyond was on Thursday, I don’t even need to see how absolutely amazing these guys were at Mana. So many great B2B sets went on this night by DJs like Arty, Yotto, Audien, and a lot more. Mana is a really nice venue and it’s very roomy, a lot of people attended yet no one was really tightly together. Plenty of dancing room and the lights beaming off the stage were gorgeous.
Maybe next year I will be able to attend a few more events! Spread the word, let me go Review some shows, I’ll feature you on my blog!
